Full Description: Sorcery in the Sky is a special fireworks showshown on selected nights throughout the year. The show features a 55-foot-tall inflatable Sorcerer Mickey riseing above the Chinese Theater and shooting fireworks from his fingertips. Over 90,000 watts of power is needed for the sound system during Sorcery in the Sky while 13 different movies supply the melodies accompanying the fireworks.

Comments: Debuting in 1990, Sorcery in the Sky is bigger on fireworks than Fantasmic!, but if you're looking for a storyline, Fantasmic! is the place to go. Sorcery in the Sky is big on thrills and getting "ooohs" and "aaahs" from guests rather than intriguing them with a plot. That's not to say you need to have the I.Q. of Brer Bear to enjoy this. It's simply a wonderful spectacle of fireworks that makes whatever you might see at your towns local Fourth of July show look like the kind of thing your dad might do in his backyard.

Sorcery in the Sky is only shown seasonally during extended hours, mostly around the Fourth of July and New Years Eve. If you're lucky enough to be at the Studios for a showing, be sure to take it in as it's very good. Another good aspect to the show is there's an infinite amount of seating! In fact, there is no seating. You can experience this show from anywhere in the park, although right in front of the Chinese Theater is probably best. Some guests prefer to watch it from their car in the Disney-MGM Studios parking lot since they can sit down and relax and when it's over, drive away without the hassles of a crowd.

Sorcery in the Sky is best viewed from the end of Hollywood Boulevard, in the area of of the Hollywood Brown Derby restaurant.
